At 10:00 am on March 11, 2008, the opening ceremony of the DAF poster exhibition was held in the Hubei Museum of Art (HBMOA). The HBMOA is situated in Wuhan City just beside East Lake-the biggest fresh water lake in city in China- and Hubei Museum. It is the best exhibition hall in 5 provinces in central China, and it belongs to the Culture Department of Hubei Province government.

There were many famous people attending the opening ceremony. Mr. Fu Zhongwang-President of HBMOA-who is a famous sculpture artist and a member of the China Artists Association; Mr. Tu Zhichu-a head of the Hubei Institute of Art and the planner of the "east+west" international poster festival; and, DAF CHINA 2007 judges' -Mr. Zhang Pu and Mr. Wei Yong. There were also hundreds of college students attending. Hubei Province Satellite TV, Wuhan TV and 7 of Wuhan City's biggest newspaper media came to interview and report. The exhibition was also reported by 3 magazines and website media. People here think that art and design are very good tools for spreading ideas of anti-fur and animal protection.

For enlarging the exhibition's influence, we chose 50 posters from all 5 years' prized posters to exhibit. This exhibit is the first of two DAF exhibitions in China, the next one will be held in Shanghai City on March 28, 2008. Mr. Mark Rissi of Swiss Animal Protection (SAP), Miss Alyce Yu and Mr. Peter Williams of the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) Beijing and WSPA Asia will be attending the opening ceremony.

The square in front of the HuBei Province Museum of Art. We had two DAF banners hanging on the front of the museum. The HBMOA is the best exhibition hall in 5 provinces in central China and it belongs to the Culture Department of Hubei Province government.

This banner features details of the exhibition like the title, the time, the sponsors and which hall it is in (there are 11 halls in the building) Size of the two banners is 7Mx1.68M

Another banner. We tried to have both banners in the best position, so they are just beside the building entrance.

The president of HBMOA, famous sculpture artist Fu Zhongwang, making the opening speach.

All honored guests cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony to formally start the exhibition. This is the traditional way in Chinese to open major events.

In the exhibition hall there were more than two hundred students from many universities in Wuhan City attending the opening ceremony.

In the center of the hall we put some exhibit posters on the floor for students to sign their names showing their support.
